Ida Caroline Pollexfen (Varley) Dewar-Durie

b. 5 Jan 1879, 60 Thistle Grove, Kensington St Mary Abbott, London;
d. 27 Apr 1972, Salisbury, Wiltshire

parents: John VARLEY (1850-1933), Isabella POLLEXFEN (1849-1938)

married Robert Nugent DEWAR-DURIE (1879-1959).

Ida Caroline Pollexfen Varley was the daughter of the well known artist John Varley Yr, known as ‘Egyptian Varley’ and his wife Isabella Pollexfen who was from Co. Sligo, Ireland. Isabella, a cousin of W.B.Yeats is credited with introducing him to his interest in the mystical and occult worlds.
